What is Marketing Grader?
Marketing Grader is a free application. It asks you to enter a website URL and returns a comprehensive report on your marketing efforts. This covers your website, social media account and other marketing outlets you have. The report analyzing all aspects of your marketing efforts and letting you know where you're succeeding and what you need to spend more time improving.
What will you get from Marketing Grader?
The report you will receive from the URL you submit will be broken up into three categories which are:
- Top of the Funnel
- Middle of the Funnel
- Analytics
Top of the Funnel give you a run down of strategies you should consider implementing right away. Middle of the Funnel give you secondary strategies. Analytics will give you an in-depth report of your site's traffic similar to Google Analytics. All these tools makes it easy for you to figure out your next steps.
Where do companies fall short on marketing online?
Most companies are spread thin over different media outlets since they are committing to multiple options. This initial practice is helpful but after a few months you should asses the return interest you are receiving from customers. Start to reduce your amount of time on social outlets that give low returns and allocate that time to the social outlets that are giving your business increased customer interest and traffic. Remember that regular constant posting will ensure a higher success rate online.

2012 has arrived and many business owners are still trying to understand how to utilize Facebook for their companies marketing. We have decided to break down what a business owner can do to start ensuring their company’s information online is fulfilling their Internet presence.
Here is a quick run down of the topics we will cover:
- Content on your web site.
- Your presence on other
social media outlets and other sites.
- Paying attention to
your criticism and praises.
Content on your web site
The best way to ensure you are being found is to think like your customer.
- What keywords would you search for to find that information?
Write down all the keywords you would search with then take a look at your site. Make sure your site is populated with those keywords. Do not overuse and abuse though because search engines are quick to see if you are trying to trick the system. Use the main keywords as soon as you can on your page. Make sure all the content you place on your site not only has the keywords but also sounds professional. If you have the budget hire a copywriter to look over your site and assist you with creating professional sounding content. Remember you want to impress your site viewers not make them question your abilities due to poor grammar or misspellings.
Your presence on social media outlets and other sites
You need to be where your customers are.
- If you wanted your product or services where would you go for information?
Let's start using the example of a garden seed company. Most of your clients would be searching for product information on relevant sites that have proven to be reliable sources. Since this is a seed company it is safe to assume the client wants to start plants from seedlings and is interested in self-reliance. Look towards publications that are online who have forums that cover these topics and sign up. Start posting comments to questions to showcase your knowledge in this area thus giving more validation to your own company. Plus this is a way to show future customer support when you engage the potential customer they may be more likely to buy from you since you were giving the helpful advice.
The last are I want to mention is YouTube. This is the second largest search engine next to Goggle. Many people are searching for videos that give information on products or "How to" videos. Find a way to present yourself in this online medium. Make sure you create clean video content which means recording in a location where they can hear you. Make sure to always have some appealing repetition in each video to keep your brand strong. Such as having a memorable spokes person, create a phrase tagline for your company or prominently display an icon or logo in the video.
Pay attention to your criticism and praise
Your client's reviews directly effect your potential for future clients.
- Do you know where your clients are going to post comments on your business?
Client's reviews are a fantastic way to get new clientele to your company but it could also turn them away. Make sure you do a search on your company name to see where comments are posted. Also sign up for a Google Account if you don't already have one. Google Alerts is a great tool for typing in keywords or phrases that will notify you when someone is doing a search on that specific keyword or phrase. Simply put in your companies name and get updates on what is being said about your service or product. But remember to take action on those comments. Post a "Thank you" comment for praises from that individual. If it is negative post a comment trying to correct the issue. This shows others that you are engaged on the experience your clients are receiving and that you care.
Blog Cliff Notes:
- Refine your website content. Make sure you are creating copy that is relevant to your services and is original.
- Start utilizing many online and social outlets to present yourself to your online clients such as:
- Start paying attention to the criticism and praises from clients and responding to them. This shows customer loyalty and gives you a constant presence online.
